Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), in association with MyGov, is hosting a Video Story Competition to raise awareness about the three new criminal laws introduced in India. This initiative aims to engage citizens, especially youth, in understanding and promoting these important reforms:
- Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023
- Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023
- Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023
Through this competition, participants can create videos that highlight key aspects of these laws, including the victim-centric approach, police transparency, and integration of technology. The winning videos will be shared with stakeholders across the criminal justice system to further spread awareness.
Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is open to all Indian citizens.
Video Specifications
- Video Duration: 2 to 5 minutes
- Language: Videos can be submitted in Hindi, English, or any regional language
- Topics: Participants are invited to choose from the following topics for their videos:
- Zero FIR
- Electronic FIR
- Timelines for Delivering Justice
- Crimes Against Women
- Crimes Against Children
- Introduction of New Offences
- Integration of Technology in New Laws
- Enhancement of Police Transparency
- Breaking Free from the Colonial Legacy
- Victim-Centric New Criminal Laws
These short videos will help educate students, youth, and the broader public on the significance of the new laws.
Gratification
- Prize for Winners: ₹10,000/- for the best video in each of the 10 topics.
- A total of 10 winners will be selected — one from each topic — to receive the prize money.
How to Submit
Interested participants can submit their entries here through the MyGov platform. Ensure your MyGov profile is accurate and up-to-date, as it will be used for future communication.
Important Terms and Conditions
- Video Format: The video must be in MP4 format and between 2 to 5 minutes long.
- Submission Deadline: Videos must be submitted by February 2, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Content Guidelines: Entries must not include any offensive, provocative, or inappropriate content.
- Changes to Terms: The BPR&D reserves the right to modify or cancel any part of the competition, including the Terms & Conditions, Technical Parameters, or Evaluation Criteria.
