Applications are invited from meritorious candidates for admission into various Ph.D. programs at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati for the December 2020 session.

• Project Staff and Full Time
• Project Staff and Part-Time
• External and Part-Time
• Self-Financed and Full-Time Foreign Students

Departments

The institute offers Ph.D. Program in the following departments:

1. Biosciences and Bioengineering
2. Chemistry
3. Environment
4. Nanotechnology

Qualifications

For admission to the Ph.D. program, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:

• Master’s degree in Science in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.0 out of 10 or a minimum of 60% of marks.

Funding

The Institute Assistantships/ External Fellowships (such as CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM, etc.) are available only to the students who are admitted under Regular & Full Time Category into Ph.D. programs.

Institute assistantships will be available to eligible students as per prevailing (MHRD, GOI) norms, as applicable from time to time. The present rates of Institute Assistantships are as below:
