On the 53rd Mizoram Police Raising Day, Mizoram Home Minister K. Sapdanga inaugurated four Mobile Forensic Vans strategically stationed in Aizawl, Lunglei, Champhai, and Kolasib Districts. Acquired under the “Assistance to States for Modernization of Police,” these vans are equipped with advanced forensic tools.
The procurement of four Mobile Forensic Vans in Mizoram involves a detailed financial breakdown. Three Basic Model Vans, each valued at Rs. 44,99,999, contribute to a substantial portion of the investment. Additionally, a Higher Model Van, with more advanced features, incurs a cost of Rs. 82,53,482. In total, the investment for all four vans amounts to Rs. 217,53,479. These specialized vehicles are not only equipped with the standard General Investigation Kit but also boast advanced forensic tools such as the Narcotic Detection Kit, Explosive Detection Kit, DNA Collection & Sexual Assault Kit, ensuring a comprehensive and sophisticated approach to forensic investigations in the region.
