UGC NET JRF Exam is one of the toughest exam to clear. For a forensic science student, it is one of the footstep to open the gate of employment. If you clear UGC JRF/LS, you can be an Assistant Professor in a University or can pursue Ph.D from reputed Laboratories and Universities.
In this post, I will be telling you How to prepare for UGC-NET/JRF in Forensic Science and clear it successfully.
Syllabus
Like for any battle, you need to have a plan of action and that plan of action comes only after you know your enemy well. Similarly, you need to know what exactly do you need to fight when you appear for UGC NET JRF exam. That will only come to know once you know the syllabus well.
Once you have the list of topics with you, its only the matter of right strategy and best study material for each topic. But please make sure whatever you study you should aim at learning the subject matter rather than “RATTAFICATION”.
Choose the best learning method
There are several methods, believe it or not, to retain information in your genius brain. Some people learn things VISUALLY, some learn it VERBALLY , some through WRITING and some through MNEMONICS( remember 9th class trigonometry, PANDIT BADRI PRASAD HAR HAR BHOLE). Mnemonics is a technique when you associate a concept with something familiar or humerous.
Whatever be your method of learning, implement that along with Fenyman Method. Now what the hell is this Fenyman method???
Fenyman Method
This method was formulated by Nobel prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman used to ensure he understood anything he studied better than anyone else.
- Choose a topic you want to learn about
- Pretend you are a teacher and your students are in primary sections
- Identify gaps in your explanation;
- Go back to the source material, to better understand it.
- Review and simplify
Be Calm
It goes without saying that a calm mind retains and processes better and longer. Whenever you are learning a new topic make sure that you and your surrounding is INSULATED. By insulated I mean there should be calmness inside as well as outside your mind i.e. your room.
Don’t Overburden Yourself
Make achievable goals. If you are not understanding a topic , do not focus on it for a very long time, give it a shot once, twice or thrice but if it is taking too much of your time; leave it for that day.
Don’t try to over learn things for a day. Don’t saturate your mind, you won’t gain anything but FRUSTRATION.
Practice Crazily
There is no substitute to practice. I suggest you to practice mock papers, quizzes and previous year papers as much as possible. This will not only help you to find out your areas of strength and weakness but it will also aid you in TIME MANAGEMENT.
One of the added advantage of practicing paper is it helps you to remain Calm.
Focus on Paper 1 – Teaching Aptitude and Research
Doesn’t matter which subject you opted for NET JRF 2020 Exam, you cannot skip appearing in UGC NET Paper 1. This is mandatory TO CLEAR for all the aspirants who’re going to appear in the UGC NET 2020 Exam.
The test aims at assessing the teaching and research aptitude as well and students usually ignore this paper and focus more on Paper 2.
Don’t make this mistake, you will have to pay heavily otherwise.
PAPER 00 (Teaching Aptitude and Research) = PAPER 82 (Forensic Science)
UGC NET JRF is definitely difficult but not something which is unachievable. As you know we have very few seats specially in Forensic Science, we need to work harder and smarter than students of other subjects.
