The Centre for Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science (CCIFS), is a leading forensic science firm that offer a variety of services that include forensic services, consultancy along with offering capacity building programmes. The team has been offering add-on courses on various aspects of forensic science to supplement students’ knowledge and skills in the field.
Here are five potential add-on courses they could offer:
1.Certificate Course in Crime Scene Investigation : This course cover topics such as evidence collection, preservation, and documentation at crime scenes, questioned documents, fingerprints, forensic biology, forensic medicine, forensic psychology and various legal provisions. The duration of this course is 3 months, theory and practical classes will take place on weekend, mostly on Saturday. CCIFS has various authorised centers that run this course. Admissions are open in two centres currently -Jamia Hamdard and Royal College of Law.
2. Certificate Course in Forensic Nursing– Forensic nursing is an area of nursing practice that combines healthcare with the legal system. This course provides an overview of forensic nursing principles, including the role of the forensic nurse in healthcare settings, legal and ethical considerations, and collaboration with law enforcement and legal professionals. Forensic nurses often play a crucial role in collecting and preserving evidence related to crimes such as sexual assault. This course also focuses on proper techniques for evidence collection, documentation, and chain of custody procedures. Admission to this course is currently on in Jamia Hamdard Centre.
3. Certificate Course in Forensic Psychology: This course delves into the intersection of psychology and criminal behavior, covering topics such as criminal profiling, eyewitness testimony, offender behavior analysis, and mental health assessments in forensic settings. You will have hands on experience on lie detection techniques performed live by a professional expert.
4. Certificate Course in Fingerprints- This course provides students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills related to the identification, classification, and analysis of fingerprints.
5.Certificate Course in Questioned Document- This course provides students with specialized knowledge and practical skills related to the analysis and authentication of documents.
